About

Jeff Williams and Teresa Froggie Fox became a couple in 1988, and the first time they sang karaoke was around 1999. A friend had asked them to go out and sing karaoke with them. Jeff was skeptical, saying, “Who wants to sing with a record?”

But Jeff and Froggie went along, and the first song Jeff sang was “Margaritaville” by Jimmy Buffet. Froggie’s first song that night was “Hot Rod Lincoln” by Commander Cody. As you can imagine they were both nervous, but at the end of the night, Jeff said, “Maybe we’ll try that again.”

So the next week they went back, sang the same two songs, and this time, Jeff was hooked!

They got so into it they started bar hopping just to sing karaoke! On Friday nights, they would get into the rotation at a bar, sing a song, and then go to Another bar, get in that rotation, and sing another song. And then another and another! Each bar had a rotation wait of about an hour, and there were around five bars in the area! Jeff and Froggie would bounce from bar to bar, singing and having a blast!

Soon, Jeff was ready to buy their own karaoke machine! They went to Walmart and bought a machine where you could insert your discs to sing.

Their very first “karaoke show” was in 2000 at the Cavalier Lounge. They had a grand total of 300 songs, and though it was a small collection, everyone had a really good time.  Their songbook was only three pages. If patrons wanted to sing something else, they would have to bring their own discs to play!

Jeff and Froggie built a following and started their first regular show at Apache Joes later in 2000. By then, they had bought some equipment which included two speakers, mics and other accessories and that was how Jeff and Froggie became karaoke hosts!

Jeff then received an offer from a fellow KJ to buy some discounted equipment. The KJ wanted Jeff and Froggie to substitute for him at another show on occasion.

Their regulars and friends suggested that the show should be called “Lucky Frogg Karaoke,” as Jeff was lucky to have Froggie as his partner (She’s been collecting ceramic frogs her whole life hence the nickname Froggie)! Furthermore, frogs aren’t considered “lucky” unless they are given as gifts, and there is no doubt that Froggie and Jeff were gifts to each other, and to all of us.

In the 22 or so years since they first hosted, Lucky Frogg Karaoke has been enjoyed at numerous bars and taverns around the Las Vegas Valley, including the Cavalier Lounge, Apache Joes, Jakes, Zodies, and so many others. They hosted nightly shows on Tuesdays through Sundays!

Jeff Williams passed on in January 2023, but he is always in our hearts and he's with us at Rustic Lounge, where Lucky Frogg Karaoke lives on!

   Cha Cha Cha!
